For those of you who didn't like William Regal winning the KOTR, I would surely like to know why. Regal is one of the top five most underutilized talents in the wrestling industry in the last ten years (will you deny this, Powell?). He's a great wrestler. He sells very well, is an exceptional performer as an actor, and he can talk on the microphone.
This is the guy, not JBL, who should have been elevated into the main event scene in 2005 and feuded with Eddie Guerrero. I am truly happy that Regal seems to be getting his shot in the limelight and I only hope that Vince McMahon keeps pushing Regal to the max because in my honest opinion, he can be the best heel in the WWE today.
Why? Because Regal is just that damn good. Just you wait and see. I am truly happy that Regal is getting his long overdue shot at the top. Here's hoping to his first reign as a WWE champion one day.

Powell's POV: Regal has been underutilized and I'll be happy if WWE follows up on this. However, I don't think WWE has any regrets about pushing JBL because he really rose to the occasion and became a legit main event player.
The bulk of the feedback I've received thus far indicates that readers aren't frustrated with the outcome of the tournament as much as they are with how lackluster the overall tournament turned out to be. WWE raised expectations with those first two matches and then pulled the rug out by including Great Khali and Hornswoggle in those next two matches.
My guess is that the casual fans are more frustrated with the result. They've been trained to view Regal as a part-time wrestler and a general manager. He just lost on his home turf in a rare in-ring appearance to Randy Orton last week, and now he's the King of the Ring—a spot generally reserved for a younger wrestler the company wants to elevate.

That was about as lame of a show I've seen in quite some time. One of the local sports talk shows was mocking the presidential candidates being involved in wrestling, saying that the morons and hicks that watch pro wrestling wouldn't be able to understand what was going on. Well, Vince McMahon and his terrible writing staff sure made me feel like an idiot for watching this crap.
Wrestling is certainly gearing itself towards thirteen year olds with the bad comedy and short attention span matches. It gives the uninformed critics who bash wrestling plenty of ammo, because this will probably be the only show they see all year.

Powell's POV: There a probably some media members who tuned in tonight for the first time since the Rosie O'Donnell vs. Donald Trump spoof match. I can't even imagine what they must think of pro wrestling and its fans right now.
