After following wrestling 30 years and being subjected to the same stale finishes in an age of "sports entertainment," I'm happy to see a group think outside the box. MMA hardcore fans will most likely scoff at the TNA effort, but as a wrestling fan, I couldn't be happier. Frankly, this has as much an element of old-school, kick ass wrestling as it does the MMA style.
It restored a sense of realism that we haven't seen very much in recent years. I think folks like Bill Watts, Verne Gagne, and Lou Thesz would actually appreciate it, in a strange sort of way. I'm particularly happy to see TNA willing to experiment and maybe—and finally—create its own dignity.
For about as long as this group has been in business, it seems to have suffered an identity crisis. Some weeks it seemed like Memphis rasslin'. Other weeks it was ECW. Many weeks, it was WCW or even an imitation of the WWE (just like WCW). Depending on perception by other fans, it could have quite an effect on pro wrestling.

I loved the MMA-style match and by no way am I an MMA Fan. It was just good to see something new. This is when TNA is at its best—when they put two men inside a six-sided ring and don't have any interference. Why cant they do that all the time? I liked how Frank Trigg added in-depth analysis. He's so much better than Don West. Hire him as soon as possible.
Good pay-per-view. I'd recommend the replay to anyone who didn't order. They could be heading down the right path if they do this all the time.
