Dot Net readers sound off on WWE and TNA increasing the price of their pay-per-view events

I know they have to cover expenses and protect profits, but if you want my opinion, WWE has some nerve raising prices when they are putting out a lousy product. They are giving us the same old feuds with the same people on top. Why should a fan pay five bucks extra to see the same thing he/she saw last year as far as main events?

I mean, I thought they were supposed to be making new stars? What is with John Morrison losing all of a sudden? Why is CM Punk in a stupid ass feud with a referee? Why the "inside" stuff that casual fans don't get on the shows (Michelle McCool telling Mickie James that James was crying backstage when she got word she was going to SD which was reported on the net is one example)?

When they had that promo with John Cena/Triple H/Shawn Michaels, why did they basically announce that they do the same feuds over and over (Cena talked about how they all had wrestled each other a million times)? Just silly stuff like this makes me annoyed. To charge more for the same old crap is just ridiculous.

The pay-per-view price increase will encourage more people to find cheaper alternatives to watch the events. Certainly, I found a few internet sites that offer to show these events for free or for a much smaller price. Increasing the prices for pay-per-view will have a negative impact on WWE. They should have never changed 29.99 price they had years ago.

Cheaper pay per view prices equals more buys. Increasing them just makes us try even harder to find cheaper, even free services to get our fix. I don't mind spending thirty bucks a month from time to time on an event, but the fact that they are raising the prices tells me they want to rip me off and they don't care about it because they are not putting the stars that we wants to see on the main event level. They won't rip me off, I will rip them off by catching a free streaming on the internet. You made me do this WWE...I initially didn't want to.

That's it - $44.95 is my breaking point - no more WWE PPV's for me. Does this mean WrestleMania 26 will be $59.95-$64.95?!? By the way, the price for TNA PPV's has gone up to $39.95 - not worth it either. So, after 25 years of wrestling PPV's I'm finished. It was fun but everything must come to an end.
