WWE Smackdown Hitlist: Jeff Hardy's loses a "loser leaves WWE" match to C.M. Punk, Chris Jericho and Big Show vs. Cryme Tyme, John Morrison and Matt Hardy vs. The Hart Dynasty, Dolph Ziggler and Maria

Dot Net Members are listening to the 102-minute Dot Net Weekly audio show that was recorded on Friday. Rich Twilling and Jason Powell ran through the latest pro wrestling news including Rey Mysterio's suspension, the Jeff Hardy's departure from WWE, Dixie Carter speaking to the media and appearing on television, the WWE cable network that Vince McMahon has teased, and much more. WWE Smackdown Hits

Jeff Hardy vs. C.M. Punk: Another gem from Hardy and Punk. I love that Punk won the match without outside interference or via some type of fluke. They put a lot of heat on Punk in this match and even afterward when he attacked Hardy one more time to close the show. The camera shots of the emotional fans in the crowd were fantastic. Hardy's farewell address was nicely done, and he did a nice job of trying to boost the spirits of the fans by letting them know he'd be back someday. Major props to Jeff for working some fantastic matches on his way out the door.

Drew McIntyre attacks R-Truth: A nice reintroduction of McIntyre. The live crowd and viewers at home who weren't familiar with McIntyre were probably expecting a squash win for Truth, so the fact that McIntyre laid him out made a nice impact.

Rey Mysterio vs. Kane: Fun while it lasted. I like the way the post-match angle furthered the storyline between Mysterio and Dolph Ziggler, and Kane and Great Khali. Okay, so I don't really give a damn about Kane vs. Khali, but the post-match angle was well done.

Dolph Ziggler and Maria: They're already going to the breakup storyline? For those who missed the show, Melina told Maria that she spotted Dolph with another woman after SummerSlam. He claimed it was his sister. WWE should call Maury Povich and hook up Dolph to the lie detector. I've watched my share of Maury over the years and history shows that the "sister excuse" is valid less than one percent of the time. Poor Maria.

Melina and Michelle McCool: Strong buildup for their next match. They are clearly the female stars of the Friday night show, so I hope WWE doesn't just plow through their feud by putting over McCool quickly. They need to get the most out of this feud because they don't have anything else that can compare. By the way, why did the babyface push the wounded heel to the ground?

WWE Smackdown Misses

No advertising for the "loser leaves WWE" match: I'd love to know the thought process that went into simply giving this match away without any advertising. The Smackdown show is doing poor ratings on MyNetwork TV and this was as hot as anything WWE has had on free television in ages. Why not advertise the match stipulation on WWE television all week and try to pop a rating? Please tell me they didn't over think this thing and decide it would be better to create the perception that you never know what's going to happen. I understand that philosophy in some cases, but this was just too big not to advertise.

John Morrison and Matt Hardy vs. The Hart Dynasty: It was fun while it lasted, but I wanted to see more than three-and-a-half minutes of action from these teams. The Harts should mean so much more than they do right now. They built them up nicely on WWE television last week only to have them lose quickly on this week's show.

Chris Jericho and Big Show vs. Cryme Tyme: The match was solid and I dig Big Show's knockout punch, but I was hoping they'd come up with a way to give Cryme Tyme their mojo back after they lost to JeriShow at the pay-per-view. Here's hoping they are just taking a longer route toward the same goal.
