WWE Raw Hitlist: Legacy destroys Batista, Triple H comes back and destroys Randy Orton, Edge rips into Vickie Guerrero in her sendoff, John Cena and The Miz, MVP vs. Matt Hardy, the Big Show vs. Cena feud won't end
By Jason Powell Jun 9, 2009 - 12:07 PM

Dot Net Members are listening to 45-minute audio recap of last night's Raw, which was posted on the site early this morning. You can gain access to all Dot Net Audio and get all the perks of membership for only $5 by visiting the Dot Net Members' Signup Page.

WWE Raw Hits

Triple H return: The live crowd was happy to see him and he brought a hot ending to the show. I had some problems with it, though, and I'll address that in the other section. Here's hoping WWE officials have come to their senses and realized that Hunter can't be so dominant and maintain the fan's interest. Given how dominant he looked in the final segment, I have my doubts.

Legacy attack on Batista: A hot attack that gives Batista an excuse to take time away for surgery or whatever is going on with him (and there are some interesting rumors). For those keeping score at home, Batista is still listed as the WWE Champion on the website. My guess is that he has to abandon the title next week and they hold a multi-person match to crown the new champion on the three-hour Raw.

John Cena and The Miz: I'm happy they stretched this out at least another week. The Miz has been great on the mic and is generating great heat. I just wish they were doing something to give him in-ring credibility in the meantime.

MVP vs. Matt Hardy: This match was just thrown out there without buildup, but these two always work well together. It was interesting to hear MVP throw his name in the hat for the WWE Title match next week, which is the main reason I'm guessing they have a multi-person match to crown the new champion.

WWE Raw Misses

Hunter destroys Randy Orton: What's next? Hunter already got his revenge on Orton by beating the hell out of him. What's worse is that it didn't mean anything because we watched retired wrestler Ric Flair beat the hell out of Orton last week, Batista beat the hell out of Orton in the cage on Sunday, and now Hunter destroy him on Monday. What's the point?

Vickie Guerrero sendoff: This reminded me of the classless way they wrote Lita off the show. In the last few weeks, the woman was referred to as a pig, asked to laugh like a witch with a pig snort at the end, work a hog pen match, uncomfortably roll around in the slop with her nephew Chavo, and then be subjected to Edge's scathing promo last night. Was this all necessary? Vickie is one of my favorite stories in WWE. Most of us were uncomfortable when she became a television character, but she made us forget she was Eddie Guerrero's widow and became a great on-air character. The fans loved to hate Vickie. She was a pleasant surprise in the role and I'll definitely miss seeing her on Raw every week.

Big Show: Another match with John Cena? Really? Does anyone want to see this? What's the point when Cena has already "defied the odds" twice in the last three weeks?

Primo and Carlito vs. Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes: The match was tucked away in the WWE Raw section on the website yesterday and received zero buildup during the show. The live crowd was given no reason to care about the match and they responded accordingly.

Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler: Their work during the Legacy attack on Batista was wretched. Lawler was especially bad because he sounded like he was calling a throwaway angle, and his calls for help sounded forced and insincere. We know what we're getting with Cole, but Lawler is better than this.
