WWE Raw Hitlist: Triple H vs. Randy Orton, John Cena vs. Chris Jericho, Ted DiBiase isn't drinking the Kool-Aid, Melina is one flexible woman, Chavo Guerrero

WWE Raw Hits

John Cena vs. Chris Jericho: Very good build on the mic early in the show and then both wrestlers delivered in the ring. Cena might be getting a mixed reaction (more boos than cheers last night), but at least he's getting a reaction, which is more than I can say about Triple H during his matches these days. More on that later. The Edge run-in was well done in that it established the basics of the Last Man Standing match and put heat on the heels going into the pay-per-view.

Ricky Steamboat returning to the ring: I'm happy to see it. I don't want to see the Dragon become a regular, but I'm all for rolling him out for special occasions and I'm more excited by his Backlash singles match with Chris Jericho than I was about the WrestleMania elimination match.

Batista vs. Chavo Guerrero: Chavo was a lot of fun in his comedy role last night. The match was an all out squash that made Batista look dominant, but Chavo kept it fun with his antics before, during, and even after the match.

Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase: Finally, we get some minor character development. Cody is an Orton disciple, while DiBiase showed signs that he isn't drinking the Kool-Aid. Only time will tell whether this was a throwaway segment, but it was nice to know that at least one of these guys can think for himself.

Melina vs. Beth Phoenix: How can you not laugh when Beth twists the ultra-flexible Melina like a pretzel and makes her kick the back of her own head? Cool spots. I enjoyed the match more than the Santino/Santina segment that seemed to last forever. By the way, can someone explain how Vickie Guerrero can force Santina to kiss the Great Khali at the pay-per-view?

WWE Raw Misses

Triple H vs. Randy Orton: The match itself was fine. The wrestlers worked hard and the match felt livelier than their boring WrestleMania match. That said, the live crowds are not reacting to Hunter once the water spitting finishes and the match begins. They were silent during his match at WrestleMania, silent again the night after WrestleMania until all the run-ins occurred, and silent again last night until the run-ins again. If this was anyone else on the roster, the powers that be would be freaking out and making changes. I don't pretend to have the answers for their problems, but it is an issue when the top two babyfaces in the company get more boos than cheers or no reaction whatsoever once the match stars.

C.M. Punk vs. Kane: The production team did a good job of covering for the finish that they botched twice. The match looked okay on television thanks to the quick cut during the DDT, but all indications are that it came off horribly live.

Big Show vs. Rey Mysterio: I can see this match both ways. On one hand, the new Raw monster Big Show looked dominant over a wrestler who is leaving the brand. On the other hand, Mysterio is currently the only champion on the Smackdown brand and he was downright squashed by Big Show on his way out the door.
