Powell's TNA Final Resolution preview and predictions: Will Jeff Hardy retain the TNA Title on the final TNA pay-per-view of 2012? Is this really the final A.J. Styles vs. Christopher Daniels match?

Jeff Hardy vs. Bobby Roode for the TNA Title: TNA was at its best under the current creative regime when Roode held the champion. The title belt gave him an initial boost. Then he grew into the role as champion and he actually made the belt feel more prestigious as his title reign went on. Hardy brings the star power, yet the title doesn't feel as prestigious with him in the role of champion. He doesn't spend enough time talking about how important it is to him, and having his own personalized belt doesn't help matters. Therefore, I'd like to see Roode get the title back in his first title match since he lost a match that prevented him from getting another title shot while Ausitn Aries was champion. I'm just not optimistic that it's going to happen. Nevertheless, I do expect this to be a strong main event match and a good show from a match quality standpoint.
Prediction: Jeff Hardy retains the TNA Title.
A.J. Styles vs. Christopher Daniels One Last Time: Will this be the last time these two wrestlers meet in TNA? Probably not. However, I don't see creative going back on that stipulation any time soon. Styles appears to be headed toward a heel turn and a possible feud with James Storm. I doubt the "One Last Time" will lead to many buys simply because creative is paying for the company's past sins, as viewers don't have faith in the company to make good on such stipulations. If Styles is turning, then it would seem logical to have him lose this match to add to his frustration level to set up the turn. I'm happy to see this is a straight up match and not a gimmick match. These two work best when there's no gimmicks involved.
Prediction: Daniels wins.
Bully Ray vs. Austin Aries: Ray and Aries stole the show when they met at Sacrifice. The story of that match is that the smallish Aries was standing up to the loudmouth bully. The roles have changed. Aries is now the cocky heel and Ray is the one getting cheered. It will be fun to see whether they can deliver another show stealer despite the role reversal. My guess is that Aries goes over here to set up a rematch at the Genesis show next month.
Prediction: Aries wins.
Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe, Garett Bischoff, and Wes Brisco vs. Aces & 8's: What happened to Aces & 8's? They were featured on the Turning Point pay-per-view poster last month and played a big part at the Bound For Glory event the month before. This feels like mid-card fodder at best. It's as if someone on creative was really excited about Aces & 8's early on and simply lost interest. Nothing of consequence seems to be happening with the group. Sure, they beat up undercard guys with hammers as part of injury angles, but there's just no sign of their story moving forward. I'm hopeful that will change in this match since I still suspect that two members of the babyface team will ultimately be with Aces & 8's when all is said and done.
Prediction: Aces & 8's win.
Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez vs. Matt Morgan and Joey Ryan: The TNA tag team division continues to be a big disappointment. There's Chavo and Hernandez, Daniels and Kazarian, and then makeshift tag teams consisting of two singles wrestlers such as Morgan and Ryan. At least I hope it's a makeshift tag team. I'm not sure why Morgan and Ryan are even together, and I the idea of turning them into a tag act. I enjoy Morgan and Ryan, but their acts just don't mesh.
Prediction: Chavo and Hernandez retain the TNA Tag Titles.
Rob Van Dam vs. Kenny King for the X Division Title: There are no real storylines taking place in the X Division. King just happened to be the winner of this month's random No. 1 contenders match on the go-home show for the pay-per-view. I'm looking forward to seeing what type of match they put together, but I can't say that I care about the X Division. Is it time for that annual statement that someone in TNA management inevitably makes about placing a renewed emphasis on the X Division?
Prediction: Rob Van Dam retains the X Division Title.
Tara vs. Mickie James for the TNA Knockouts Title: Two veteran female workers who have delivered good matches in the past. I want to get my hopes up for a quality women's match, yet I am concerned that we'll get too much silliness with Jesse. It would be a mistake to go with a title change here. There's a story to tell with Mickie chasing Tara and eventually beating her for the title, but it hasn't been told.
Prediction: Tara retains the TNA Knockouts Title due to outside interference.
