TNA No Surrender Hitlist: Sting, Jeff Jarrett, Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle vs. Christian Cage, Sheik Abdul Bashir music offends, A.J. Styles vs. Frank Trigg, Sonjay Dutt vs. Jay Lethal

TNA No Surrender Hits
Sonjay Dutt vs. Jay Lethal: A fun ladder match with both guys working really hard. The absurdity of Val's engagement ring hanging over the wrestling ring cracked me up. I really hope this is the end of the Black Machismo character. It's time for Jay Lethal to become his own man and walk away from the tired gimmick and I can't think of a better storyline reason for him to do so.
Lost feed fiasco: In Demand pay-per-view viewers were given a treat when the feed cut out and we were given a second or two of two topless women lying on a bed together. Was the Asian woman the Suicide character that TNA has been teasing? Yeah, probably not. I realize this wasn't such a "Hit" for parents who were watching the show with their children, but it spiced up what was an otherwise boring pay-per-view for this viewer.
TNA No Surrender Misses
Overall show: This was the most disappointing TNA pay-per-view in recent memory. I felt like I was watching a sloppy house show. There were no memorable matches or events (aside from when the feed cut out) and this was nothing more than a second rate, discount production.
Sheik Abdul Bashir music: I've tried to give the character the benefit of the doubt, but there's just no excusing the jet sound effect that they use as part of his entrance. TNA should be ashamed of themselves for sinking to this level. That's not heat. It's offensive and I'm shocked that TNA would air this on their television shows. For that matter, I'm stunned that Spike TV officials let it slide. I like elements of the Bashir character, but TNA must wise up and realize how offensive the jet sound effect is.
Frank Trigg vs. A.J. Styles: The fans in attendance said it all and TNA's production team was nice enough to show a close up shot of them chanting, "We want wrestling." Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe can incorporate the MMA style into their matches, but fans expect something different when they pay to see Styles. The MMA style doesn't play to his strengths and the first round of the match that I saw was dreadful.
Abyss: Maybe it's time to send him home again until he loses weight and finds his old outfit. The overhauled character is beyond bad and it's not catching on with viewers.
Taylor Wilde: TNA wants her to be Trish Stratus and it's just not working. She can be a role player in TNA and maybe she'll eventually become what TNA is looking for, but she was not the right person to beat Awesome Kong and her act hasn't been getting over despite TNA's best efforts to shove her down the throats of viewers.
Sting promo: Did he forget his lines? He paced around the ring like he had no idea what he was going to say next. Sting has been very good on the mic lately, but this was not one of his better performances.
Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle vs. Christian Cage: I expected more from three of TNA's better workers. It wasn't the worst match on the show and I know there were some "This is awesome" chants from the live crowd, but this did not live up to my main event expectations. The lame finish with Jeff Jarrett and his tired guitar gimmick didn't help matters.
