Powell's TNA Sacrifice predictions: Bobby Roode vs. Rob Van Dam in a ladder match for the TNA Title, one title change prediction, Bully Ray vs. Austin Aries, Kurt Angle vs. A.J. Styles

The following picks for TNA Sacrifice are made without inside information on the match finishes. These are not spoilers. They are merely my predictions. Bobby Roode vs. Rob Van Dam in a ladder match for the TNA Title: For the third consecutive year, Van Dam is involved in the TNA Title match at Sacrifice. It's hard to take his chances of capturing the title seriously when all signs seem to point toward Roode vs. James Storm at Slammiversary. Granted, TNA has done what they can to convince viewers that Storm is out of the picture because he's uncertain about his career in TNA following his loss to Roode last month. I give them credit for the effort, but I still see Roode winning and facing Storm next month. Here's hoping that there's no garbage and they actually use Van Dam to elevate their champion by having Roode win in a no nonsense manner.

Prediction: Bobby Roode retains the TNA Title.

Samoa Joe and Magnus vs. Christopher Daniels and Kazarian for the TNA Tag Titles: Another month and no character development for the TNA Tag Champions. Meanwhile, Daniels and Kazarian have more issues with A.J. Styles and Kurt Angle. I don't feel overly confident in this pick, but I'll call for the title change to set up Daniels and Kazarian defending against Styles and Angle down the road.

Prediction: Daniels and Kazarian win the tag titles.

Kurt Angle vs. A.J. Styles: Why is this match happening? We've seen it a million times and there's nothing at stake. Perhaps it's for the reason I listed above. Will we see the spot where Angle and Styles fight off Daniels and Kazarian only to back into one another to set up the big happy handshake spot? If there is a winner (and I could definitely see a non-finish here), I'll go with the guy who isn't acting distraught because his enemies have photos of him getting too cozy with the female boss.

Prediction: Angle wins.

Jeff Hardy vs. Mr. Anderson: Why is this match happening? We've seen it a million times and there's nothing at stake. No, this is not an errant cut and paste from the match listed above. I feel the same way about both matches. It doesn't mean these matches can't be entertaining, it just means that creative did a poor job of giving viewers incentive to care about these two matches. Since neither guy appears to have anything big going into Slammiversary next month, I'll go with the upset to set up the rematch.

Prediction: Anderson wins.

Bully Ray vs. X Division Champion Austin Aries: The X Division Championship is not on the line in this one (barring a last minute change). The creative for this match is strong. Ray was at his antagonistic best and Aries was great as the smaller guy who isn't afraid to stand up to the big bully. My pick might be wishful thinking simply because I want to see this feud continue and I feel Ray going over in some dastardly way sets up the need for a rematch.

Prediction: Ray wins.

Devon vs. Robbie E and Robbie T for the TNA TV Title: Please let this be the feud blowoff. It's great that TNA has decided to have the TV Title defended every week on television, but now it's time to put the belt on a champion that viewers want to see on a weekly basis. Devon is fine in small doses, but I don't want to watch him defend a title every week. For that matter, I have no desire to watch either one of the Robbies defend the title. I assume the Robbies will end up bickering about who gets the pin if that determines which one of them is champion. I definitely fear the insanity of the Robbies being named co-champions. The best way to avoid that mess...

Prediction: Devon retains.

Gail Kim vs. Brooke Tessmacher for the TNA Knockouts Championship: I'm convinced that creative has a wheel that they spin to determine the challenger of the month for the TNA Knockouts Title. I hope they prove me wrong by keeping his program alive for another month. They probably will since Slammiversary is up next and it would be logical to have more than a challenger of the month title defense on that show. I'll pick Gail to retain in a way that necessitates a rematch.

Prediction: Gail Kim retains.
