WWE Raw Hits

Daniel Bryan, C.M. Punk, and Zack Ryder vs. Dolph Ziggler, The Miz, and Alberto Del Rio: A perfect television main event for a holiday week. WWE gave viewers an entertaining match that spotlighted the babyface champions, yet didn't give away too much in the process. It was nice to see the babyfaces shine, and it was also good to see so many fresh faces in a Raw main event.

Kane and John Cena: A nice followup to last week's angle. They answered the question of whether Kane came out for Cena or Mark Henry, and Kane looked vicious as he attacked Cena at ringside and smothered him with his hand. I'm not sure what the significance of Kane stealing Cena's t-shirt is, but I hope it's because he's as annoyed by the Be A Star logo on the side of the shirt as I am. Okay, probably not. More than anything, I hope the tone of this feud requires Cena to play a more serious role than he's been playing in recent months.

Big Show: A good promo. Show did a nice job of showing that he was trying hard to say the right thing, yet his loss to Daniel Bryan was killing him on the inside. I'm curious to see where they go with those two on the weeks ahead.

Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett: A minor hit only because WWE showed that they're not giving up on Barrett despite the lack of heat he has. Of course, it's their fault for killing his heat following the Nexus run, but it's good to see them sticking with the guy even though his ongoing feud with Orton has been nothing special thus far.

Epico and Primo vs. The Uso Brothers: You may have questioned why the heroes of WWE Superstars were getting a match on Raw, but this has to happen if WWE is going to rebuild the tag division. These teams need exposure in front of the Raw audience if they have any hope of getting over. Oddly enough, the most memorable part of the match was Rosa Mendes jiggling to the music. Epico and Primo may need to be positioned as babyfaces due to her dancing because she's going to get over with the horny male demographic if she keeps that up.

Overall show: I loved the C.M. Punk introduction to start the show. It was something out of the ordinary and put the spotlight on three babyface champions coming out of the pay-per-view. Overall, this was a good holiday week show. They didn't force viewers to suffer through campy comedy like they did with the Smackdown holiday special. Rather, they delivered an entertaining two hours of programming while playing it smart by saving the real Royal Rumble hype and storyline progression for January 2.

WWE Raw Misses

Sheamus vs. Jinder Mahal: Is there a clause in Sheamus's contract that requires WWE to have him beat Jinder Mahal on every television show in the month of December? I can live with it if this is going somewhere, but it looks like they have no plans for Jinder and are simply spinning their wheels with Sheamus.

Alicia Fox: What in the hell was she wearing on her head? What in the hell was with that horrible post-match mic work? Why in the hell did she pin the dominant Divas Champion in less than a minute? Okay, so if the match was cut short due to injury then it makes perfect sense. If not, um, what the hell?
