Powell's WWE SummerSlam preview and predictions: Who is the seventh member of Team WWE? Will Randy Orton beat Sheamus to win the WWE Championship? Will Undertaker show up?

The following picks are simply my predictions for WWE SummerSlam. They are not based on any inside knowledge of the match finishes. I'm guessing just like you are. In other words, if you work for a newz site, please don't do a disservice to your readers by trying to pass these picks off as possible spoilers. Join me tonight at 7:00 p.m. CT for WWE SummerSlam live coverage.
Team WWE vs. Nexus: The big mystery is who will be the seventh member of Team WWE. Great Khali is out of the match according to the WWE website. The Miz wants in, but he also wants his ass kissed. Triple H is in Los Angeles, but no one seems to know whether he's physically able to return following surgery.
Hunter appearing on Team Raw and then turning on them to reveal that he's the anonymous general manager and the force behind Nexus would be fun (spare me the hate mail, Hunter haters), but you'd think WWE would have offered bigger hype for the mystery of the seventh member of the team if they were going to deliver someone as big as Hunter.
Internet darling Bryan Danielson (I'll get back to Daniel Bryan if he ever returns) is a great candidate, but there's no official word on whether he's played scapegoat long enough to be rehired. The lack of hype over the seventh man actually makes me feel like Danielson is more realistic than Hunter for the role.
Sure, the internet would blow up if he makes an unadvertised appearance, but the casual fans would likely be let down if he were positioned as a huge surprise. I'm not saying it will be Danielson, but my guess is that the seventh member will be someone that casual fans don't consider a major surprise.
As for the actual match, my guess is that Edge and Chris Jericho have a meltdown that leads to both of them being eliminated. I have no idea how they'll get Bret Hart out of the match since he can't take bumps. Maybe he'll go ape with a chair like he did at WrestleMania and will be DQ'd. Ultimately, I think the match comes down to Cena vs. several Nexus members. He'll take out most of them, but the numbers game will eventually be too much for him and Wade Barrett will beat him to give Nexus the win.
Sheamus vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship. I'm looking forward to seeing what type of match these two can put together. We've seen them work together in the past, but Sheamus just keeps improving, and Orton's popularity is surging.
I love the added stipulation about anyone who interferes on Sheamus's behalf being suspended indefinitely. It's a long shot, but what if Sheamus is in cahoots with the anonymous GM and the indefinite suspension lasts 24 hours?
I also love the stipulation that Orton won't get another title shot, as it makes this match seem much more important that it did before Monday's Raw. I wonder if the idea is that Orton will lose the match and then move to Smackdown via trade just in time for the October 1 move to Syfy.
Either way, I'm going with Sheamus to retain, as I believe he'll be champion once Triple H returns so they can have their big showdown match. I could see Orton winning the match to give the fans a big babyface moment, but I don't see a readymade program for Orton as champion beyond a rematch with Sheamus. I guess we can't rule out Orton winning and The Miz cashing in, but I hope they keep the MITB gimmick alive by holding off for another show.
Kane vs. Rey Mysterio for the World Hvt. Championship: I wonder if we'll get an injury angle to set up the long postponed Mysterio knee surgery. Either way, I see Kane retaining the championship, and Undertaker making an appearance to set up their feud. I guess Kane and Taker don't need to feud over the title belt, but I also think Mysterio would want to get the SummerSlam payoff and then have the surgery. Does anyone really believe Mysterio is the man who attacked Taker? Nah, Taker emerges from the coffin to set up his latest program with Kane.
Dolph Ziggler vs. Kofi Kingston for the Intercontinental Championship: This is the best of the undercard matchups. They've had a heated rivalry on Smackdown lately, so this should be a good, intense matchup. Ziggler just won the championship so he's likely to retain it, but I see a lot of heel victories in the top matches, so maybe they'll surprise me. I'm taking Dolph, but this one could go either way.
Big Show vs. Straight Edge Society: A three-on-one handicap match doesn't do much for this viewer, but C.M. Punk could keep this fun by avoiding Big Show for most of the match and letting his minions take the abuse. My initial belief was that Punk would sneak in and score a cheap win after Show took care of the other SES members. I'm still leaning in that direction, but I can't imagine SummerSlam will be filled with as many heel victories as I'm picking. What the hell, I'll go with SES to win.
Alicia Fox vs Melina for the WWE Divas Championship: Melina beat Fox on Monday night, so the usual WWE booking approach would be for Fox to leave SummerSlam with the title. I don't think they want to completely burry Fox by having her lose clean to Melina twice in six days. Stranger thing have happened, but I'm taking Fox to retain.
