WWE Smackdown Hits

The Hardys and Rey Mysterio vs. MVP and Mark Henry and Kane: No, I don't like seeing MVP lose all these matches because the guy belongs in the main event picture. That said, this was a good, fast-paced six-man tag that would have been a suitable television main event.

Triple H and Vladimir Kozlov confrontation: I still wish WWE would bring in a manager to do the talking for Kozlov, but this was a solid exchange. I enjoyed Triple H recapping the Rocky movies and the line about the first movie just hitting Russian theaters was nicely done. The slow build to their first match has been very well done thus far and I'm looking forward to that match as much as anything in wrestling these days.

Big Show and Vickie Guerrero promo: Good promo to open the show. I enjoy Show's humorous, laid back character, but it was nice to watch him turn up the intensity level for this promo. Short, simple, and effective. Meanwhile, Vicke's borderline deranged promo to set up the Undertaker vs. Chavo match was also well done and you have to love her cackling witch laugh at the end.

Undertaker vs. Chavo Guerrero: I'm down on the idea of putting Chavo back in the ECW Title mix, but I'll be the first to admit that he's been a solid chickenshit heel for the feud with Taker. The coffin gimmick with Underaker on Halloween was a lock. The match was nothing special and rather uneventful, but it was an easy television main event that didn't give too much away and still forwarded the Taker vs. Show feud.

The Brian Kendrick vs. Jimmy Wang Yang: A fun match while it lasted. I'd like to see more from these two. Bonus points for the cool post-match power moves from Ezekiel Jackson. As a viewer, I want to know more about Big Zeke's character and why he hangs out with the quirky Kendrick.

Divas costume match: Victoria wrestling in the banana outfit was one of the highlights of the show and I don't care what anyone says. I also got a kick out of the commentary for this match, as Jim Ross and Tazz let loose and had some fun calling it.

WWE Smackdown Misses

John Morrison and The Miz beat Primo and Carlito: Miz and Morrison plowed through yet another babyface tag team to make them look good so that DX can mow right through them on Monday night. I like the Miz and Morrison act and I'm all for them being pushed as one of the dominant teams in WWE, but I don't like the way they are being elevated just so DX can beat them, especially at the expense of the new WWE Tag Champs.

The Masked Magician: Weak. I don't know much about magic, but I know that the trick with Maria was lame compared to some of the other television magician tricks I've seen. Heck, the sword swallowers in the Kizarny vignette were more impressive than this guy.

Great Khali Kiss Cam: It was fun the first two week and now it's just the same old bit. The witch's line about not wearing a mask was ridiculous. I thought the campy comedy segments were reserved for Raw. The babyface Khali can be fun, but I hope they shake things up.
