WWE Raw Hits

Triple H and Randy Orton: The slow build with Orton taking out McMahon family members before finally giving Steph the RKO that brought out Hunter was great. Orton plays the unstable role to perfection and I've come around on the remorse he shows afterward, as an industry source pointed out that the fans would be more likely to cheer him if he stood over his victims with no sign of regret in a Stone Cold-like manner. I just hope Hunter gives Orton more offense than Shane McMahon did.

Roddy Piper and Chris Jericho: This was the best Piper promo in years. We usually get the rambling maniac Roddy, but he slowed down for a change and delivered a heartfelt promo. Piper was sympathetic and believable, and Jericho came across like the biggest heel on the show when he kicked him in the leg and then told him to crawl for his respect. Awesome segment. My favorite of the night.

Edge and John Cena: Great promo from Edge with the hilarious finger pointing at the individual fans. His line to the young fan at ringside growing up and being wrong was priceless. I was even more impressed with the way Cena handled his promo. He didn't cry about the way Edge won the title, and the lines he delivered after spinning Edge around were fantastic. WWE has done a terrific job with Cena. The young fans and women still love him, and they've made it much easier for the young male fans to cheer for him by cutting out the too cute routine.

Rey Mysterio vs. Mike Knox: Knox looked like a badass for the bulk of the match only to have Rey score the pin out of nowhere. I liked the way the announcers sold it by acting surprised that Rey managed to pull out another win in that manner. Mysterio got the win, but Knox didn't come out of the match any weaker.

Jamie Noble: God bless Liberace's talented soul. I don't even know why that line cracked me up, but I laughed out loud. Am I the only person who would love to see a Noble vs. Santino Marella feud just for the promos?

WWE Raw Misses

Shane McMahon: The punt kick to the head couldn't have come quickly enough. It was sickening to watch him once again dominate a fight with one of the top stars of the company. Some viewers can suspend their disbelief for Shane, but I just can't do it. I've groaned every time he's beaten up a member of Legacy, and watching him get the better of Orton in last night's fight was stomach turning. Fortunately, Orton is so over that he can overcome the latest McMahon masturbation moment.

Christian hype: He was featured in two commercials, but I thought WWE would do more to hype his return. It just felt like an ordinary

Melina vs. Beth Phoenix: Why won't they just let the better divas wrestle?
