Powell's WWE Hell in a Cell preview and predictions: Will Daniel Bryan or Randy Orton win the vacant WWE Championship? Will John Cena win the World Heavyweight Championship in his return?

Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan in a Hell in a Cell match for the vacant WWE Championship with Shawn Michaels as special referee: WWE sold viewers on the hope of Bryan winning the championship by making it seem as if HBK will do the right thing. I believe he will, and I believe this horribly booked series of matches needs to conclude with Bryan finally getting the gold. I just hope they don't destroy Hell in a Cell along the way with cheap interference from Triple H or The Shield or Big Show. The Bryan vs. Orton series has been underwhelming and I hope it closes with the two excellent workers putting on a classic Hell in a Cell match.

Alberto Del Rio vs. John Cena for the World Heavyweight Championship. When in doubt, pick Cena. Those are usually words to live by when making predictions on his matches. I'm going against that philosophy in this case because I don't think Cena winning here is a great move for business unless they are setting up a unification match (and that's certainly not good business). It's always possible that Cena wins and Damien Sandow cashes in his Money in the Bank contract successfully, but I don't really see what reason WWE would have to go from Del Rio to Sandow right now. I'm going with Del Rio to hold onto the title somehow. The Cross Arm Breaker finisher, so perhaps we get some type of fluky DQ finish to set up the rematch and Cena winning the title in his hometown at Survivor Series next month.

C.M. Punk vs. Ryback and Paul Heyman in a Hell in a Cell match. Fans have visions of Brock Lesnar pulling the door off dancing through their heads. I would be surprised if WWE used up a Lesnar pay-per-view appearance without advertising it first. I could see Brock returning soon for a match at Survivor Series, but it's more likely to play out on Raw than on the pay-per-view. Rather, I believe Punk gets through Ryback, gives Heyman the big beating, and wins the match.

C.M. Punk wins.

Cody Rhodes and Goldust vs. Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns vs. The Uso Brothers in a Triple Threat for the WWE Tag Team Championship. Normally, it would be simple to go with the new champions this early in their run. And while that's what I'm going to do here, I don't feel very confident about it. It's odd to see a Triple Threat here when they could have played the rematch clause card and went right back to Cody and Goldust vs. Rollins and Reigns. Did they feel like shaking things up or do they have something else in mind? Either way, I'll roll with Dusty's boys.

A.J. Lee vs. Brie Bella for the WWE Divas Championship. I am looking forward to seeing how much they can improve upon their last pay-per-view match. It's rare that I can find a reason to get my hopes up for a Divas match, but Brie has really improves and Lee remains the most entertaining female performer in WWE. Brie needs to win over the fans before she wins the title, not have the company force her onto the fans by having her win the title. I feel strongly about that one, but I'm not sure they do.

A.J. Lee retains the WWE Divas Championship.

Los Matadores vs. The Real Americans: It's the first match in the series so you'd think that The Real Americans would go over somehow to set up the rematch. However, I'm going with Los Matadores getting the win, and then The Real Americans doing something afterward or on Raw to get their heat back to set up the second of many, many matches we are sure to see from these two teams.

Curtis Axel vs. Big E Langston for the Intercontinental Championship: The match was pulled from the lineup due to an undisclosed injury suffered by Axel. No replacement match was announced before this article went live.
