Austin Aries vs. Jeff Hardy for the TNA Title: The buildup for this match left me puzzled. Both wrestlers lost televised matches in recent weeks and neither man was made to look particularly strong on the go-home show. Then Aries informed us in the closing minutes of the show that we should ignore everything he said in the weeks leading up to the match. Odd. Fortunately, the actual match has the potential to be very good and the outcome doesn't feel predictable. I could go either way on this one. TNA failed when it came to making viewers truly want to see Hardy win the title.

I don't sense the majority of viewers are truly onboard. Hardy is popular enough and his matches are strong enough that I have no doubt that he'll get the live crowd to rally behind him, but it just doesn't feel like they've taken fans on a ride that has them anxious to see Hardy win the strap. It doesn't mean he won't win because it has to be tempting to deliver the crowd pleasing finish on the biggest show of the year. I see a Bully Ray title reign coming soon. Heck, I haven't ruled out the possibility of Aces & 8s taking out Hardy to give Ray, who finished second in the BFG Series, the title match by default. Since I have to choose between these two wrestlers, I'll go with the crowd pleasing finish.

Prediction: Hardy wins the TNA Title.

Christopher Daniels and Kazarian vs. Kurt Angle and A.J. Styles vs. Hernandez and Chavo Guerrero Jr. in a three-way for the TNA Tag Titles: Why are challengers Angle and Styles bickering? The go-home show left me wondering if Styles is turning heel or if they are just scripting him to be whinier than usual. Are they setting up a title reign involving bickering tag partners? I hope not. Daniels and Kazarian are great as the tag champs and they already had one reign cut way too short by Styles and Angle. This should be one of the better matches of the night.

Prediction: Daniels and Kazarian retain because Styles and Angle can't get along.

Bobby Roode vs. James Storm in a falls count anywhere street fight with King Mo Lawal as special referee: Oh, what could have been. This is the match that TNA was setting up as the BFG at one time. The idea was for Roode to be the long running champion heading into BFG, and for his former tag partner to win the BFG Series and then face him at the pay-per-view. I was totally onboard with that plan regardless of how predictable it may have been. Predictable isn't always such a bad thing. Instead of it playing out that way, we're left with these two having what feels like a meaningless street fight with the addition of MMA fighter King Mo as the special referee. I didn't want to see these two fight. I wanted to see them wrestle. I'm sure they'll go above and beyond to have a good brawl and I assume we'll see some color. It just won't be the dramatic main event that I spent months looking forward to. As for the finish, my guess is that they are setting up Roode to be King Mo's first opponent.

Prediction: Storm wins.

Miss Tessmacher vs. Tara for the TNA Knockouts Title: Tara has a Hollywood boyfriend. Dot Net's official Social Media Ambassador Jonny Fairplay (@JonnyFairplay) speculated on Twitter that it could be "Mr. PEC-Tacular" Jessie Godderz, a former Big Brother participant who has been in TNA developmental for a long time. That makes sense to me even though I could barely pick Godderz out of a lineup. Okay, so I guess I'd just look for the guy in the lineup with the spectacular pecs. Anyway, I suspect the Hollywood boyfriend leads to Tara getting the win. If so, good for her. She's very good in the ring and I'd like to see her have a run with the strap at this point in her career.

Prediction: Tara wins the Knockouts Title.

Sting and Bully Ray vs. two members of Aces & 8s: The logical move seems to be Ray turning on Sting and revealing himself as the leader of Aces & 8s. If that doesn't happen here, then I will actually be suspicious that they are saving the reveal for the main event. One way or another, I expect to see Ray revealed as an Aces & 8s member by the end of the night. Oh, and there's no way Aces & 8s lose this match since it carries the stipulation that they have to leave TNA. Okay, so they could lose and ignore the stipulation since, well, they are a group of rebels who don't work for TNA, but I don't think that's the approach creative is taking.

Prediction: Aces & 8s win.

Samoa Joe vs. Magnus for the TNA TV Title: The former TNA Tag Champions meet in what could be a pretty good match. Joe just won the title so I don't expect a title change.

Prediction: Joe retains the TNA TV Title.

Al Snow vs. Joey Ryan: I don't see this as a vehicle to set up Snow as a full-time wrestler again, so I assume Ryan will go over in a heelish manner. Will Head make an appearance?

Prediction: Ryan wins.

Zema Ion vs. Rob Van Dam for the X Division Championship: I was shocked to read on the TNA website that the X Division Title is actually on the line in a match that was thrown together on Thursday. This will be the match that airs on the Spike TV special, according to one of the preview videos. It's the perfect choice because Van Dam is a crowd pleaser, and he and Ion should deliver a crowd pleasing opener. I don't like the idea of the X Division Championship being on the line because RVD has been more than established as a heavyweight. I assume there's a cheap finish and then RVD pleases the live crowd by leaving Ion lying with a Frogsplash.

Prediction: Ion retains the X Division Title.
