Twilling's Weekend Brief: John Cena wins again, Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty, Linda McMahon, Chris Nowinski, The Nexus, Tyler Black, Bobby Lashley vs. Batista, plastic bags ending up underneath the car

-John Cena beat The Nexus. When are we going to stop being surprised that WWE continues to give us more of the same regarding Cena?
-Since Darren Young was kicked out of The Nexus, does anyone else think he keeps a job with WWE, simply because he is the black John Cena? I'm sure there is a storyline in there somewhere.
-How iconic was the Barbershop incident with Shawn Michaels putting Marty Jannetty through the window? Well, to this day, we never refer to the weaker of the two in a broken up tag team as "The Neidhart."
-Linda McMahon didn't do herself and her campaign any favors this week after her callous comments regarding the death of Lance Cade. She is not going to win anyway, but damn, don't handicap yourself Linda.
-I applaud Chris Nowinski for everything he is doing in the field of brain research, but I am glad the people he has around him have several, very impressive medical degrees. His colleagues' titles read like an eye chart and when we get to Chris, it just says, "Chris Nowinski."
-Skip Sheffield has a broken ankle. That does not bode well for him or WWE, but Michael Tarver, David Otunga, and Heath Slater will get a chance to step up now in his absence.
-Does anyone else think Husky Harris would be a good fit in The Nexus? While we're at it, why not Percy Watson? That cheesy smile could become a dastardly scowl pretty quickly.
-If WWE had a plan in place for The Nexus and what they are going to do with them, I hope they let it play out despite Skip's injury. I know audibles have to be called at times, but I'd also like to see long term planning play out.
-Interesting comments from former WWE Tag Team Champion Rene Dupree this week, saying wrestlers "sell their soul" when they sign with WWE.
-It doesn't happen often, but the most interesting comments to hear are the honestly made ones, not someone kissing ass so Vince might rehire them, and not someone so bitter, their comments come across as petty. Dupree is happy in Japan. Good for him.
-Will we see Bill Goldberg and other WCW alumni in Atlanta for WrestleMania 27? Only if enough time has passed for Vince, which it should have. Time to honor those who succeeded in that company. The Hall of Fame at Mania 27 will be a great start.
-Disappointing to hear Jerry Lynn describe his injuries this week. A tough man who always gave his all in the ring has a long way to go to overcome this one. I hope he is able to get healthy, first and foremost, and it's icing on the cake if he wrestles again.
-Will Tyler Black succeed in the WWE? Time will tell, but he has always had the right mindset to do it. I'm sure a lot of fans are salivating over the idea of a faction with Black, C.M. Punk, and Daniel Bryan.
-Who will become the next ROH Champion? Whomever it is, I'm sure that person will carry on what it means to hold that title.
-Speaking of Bryan, great move by WWE to bring him back. I think everything that has happened up until now was a blessing in disguise for him, and many independent promoters out there.
-Why is it that plastic bag that flies around moving cars always ends up underneath mine? It's like a higher power places it under there or something.
-Bobby Lashley fights Chad Griggs tonight. He said he is willing to fight Batista, but it would have to be immediately after this fight. Is Lashley in a position to make demands like that?
-I have to admit a Lashley vs. Batista fight would be intriguing. Strikeforce has a few of these attraction fights in their future, but as long as they have quality main events, they'll be fine.
-What is more surprising? Homicide is gone from TNA or it took this long for Homicide to be gone from TNA?
-RIP Skandor Akbar, Ted Allen, and Lance Cade.
