WWE NXT Hits
Kaval wins: Kaval was of course the top guy in the competition. His experience put him head and shoulders about everyone else in the ring, and he also carried himself like a true professional. A lot of people were thinking LayCool was going to push his buttons, but he flourished in his relationship with Michelle and Layla. Kaval headlining a WWE pay-per-view sounds good to me.
Alex Riley vs. Michael McGillicutty vs. Kaval: The final match of NXT season two saw the three finalists face each other in an entertaining triple threat match. Riley scored the victory and the action was solid throughout. Normally, one guy gets taken out for awhile in a triple threat, but they all worked together pretty much the entire time.
Kaval promo: Kaval was very good on the mic throughout the competition. Sure, he had a couple of hiccups, but his promo style is definitely very good and definitely his own. I liked the veteran presence Kaval brought to the show and never once did it seem he thought he was too good to be there (even though he was).
Alex Riley promo: Riley has a few screws to tighten, but he definitely has 'star' written all over him. I would have been very surprised to see Michael McGillicutty win this thing and once Riley was eliminated, I knew it would be Kaval. I'm guessing Riley will be on television very soon and once he is, let's hope they get a microphone in his hand.
WWE NXT Misses
NXT season three: I'm not loving the idea of a season with just female contestants. The male Rookies worked three minute matches and the current Raw and Smackdown Divas work two minute matches, so are we going to get a bunch of thirty second matches? It looks like they are going to rush through it, so we will get a lot of eliminations.
Michael McGillicutty promo: Wow, talk about waving the white flag. I'm not sure what McGillicutty was trying to do with his first promo, but "entertain the crowd" definitely wasn't it. Kaval is small. I'm tired of hearing that. McGillicutty is boring. Someone should point that out to him so he can work on it.
Eliminated Rookies beat up Kaval: Okay, so now the NXT season two Rookies are together too? Minus Kaval, of course. Are we going to get a group with Riley leading the pack? Tell you what, overall, there would be more talent in this group if it were The Nexus than the originals. Timing is everything I guess.
