UFC 101 pay-per-view lineup: How will UFC attempt to follow up on Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir?
By Jason Powell Jul 14, 2009 - 10:32 AM

The following is the lineup for the UFC 101 pay-per-view, which takes place on Aug. 8 in Philadelphia, Pa. at the Wachovia Center.

-B.J. Penn vs. Kenny Florian for the UFC Lightweight Championship.

-Anderson Silva vs. Forrest Griffin.

-Amir Sadollah vs. Johnny Hendricks.

-Kendall Grove vs. Richardo Almeida.

-Josh Neer vs. Kurt Pellegrino.

-Shane Nelson vs. Aaron Riley.

-Tamdan McCrory vs. John Howard.

-Thales Leites vs. Alessio Sakara

-Matt Riddle vs. Dan Cramer.

-George Sotiropoulos vs. Rob Emerson.

-Jesse Lennox vs. Danillo Villefort.

Powell's POV: Only the top five fights are scheduled for the pay-per-view broadcast. There's a big drop off from UFC 100 to UFC 101. That said, I'm looking forward to Penn vs. K-Flo, and Silva vs. Griffin. Those are a couple of strong pay-per-view matches, but the show just isn't as deep (and can't possibly be as newsworthy) as the UFC 100 event.
