UFC President Dana White expresses disappointment in Brock Lesnar's post-fight antics, claims Brock is embarrassed by comments he made
Jul 12, 2009 - 12:01 PM

UFC President Dana White wasn't impressed with Brock Lesnar's antics after he defeated Frank Mir to become the undisputed UFC Hvt. Champion on Saturday in Las Vegas. "I was blown away,” White said in a press conference that was recapped by Sherdog.com. "I don’t think in the history of the UFC we’ve had anybody do that. It’s not who we are, and, to be honest, it’s not who he is.

"You hang with these guys personally, and you get to know them. If he was a dick, I’d tell you right now this guy is a psycho and I don’t know what I’m going to do with him. He’s not. He’s a smart guy. The sponsorship thing was the craziest thing I’ve ever heard in my life."

"Brock went so far over the top, I can’t even put it into words,” White said. “WWE -- that’s what it is. We had a talk. We talked like men, and he said he was sorry. He said, ‘I’m embarrassed by what I said.’ I take his word for it this time." [Quotes courtesy of Sherdog.com.

Powell's POV: Other than insulting a sponsor (Budweiser), how was Brock's behavior any different from what Tito Ortiz has done in the past? Of course, Dana butted heads with Tito for many years, so at least he's consistent. My guess is that Dana loves the edge and controversy that Brock brings to UFC, but he has to speak out against it, particularly when he insults a sponsor.
