UFC News: Brock Lesnar pleads guilty to hunting violation charges
Dec 21, 2011 - 10:15 AM |
UFC fighter Brock Lesnar pleaded guilty on Tuesday to failing to tag a dear he shot in Canada in November 2010. Lesnar paid a fine of $1,500 Canadian and is suspended from hunting in Canada for six months.
"It's the kind of thing that happens to hunters all the time," Lesnar said in a statement. "I want to thank the Canadian authorities for their cooperation in resolving this misunderstanding. I love Canada and I can't wait to go back to Alberta for a hunt.
"After I shot the mule deer, I failed to immediately tag it. As far as I was involved, that's all there is to it." To read the full story, visit ESPN.com.
Powell's POV: The hunting incident is behind Lesnar, who will be facing Alistair Overeem at UFC 141 on December 30 in Las Vegas. Ryan Kester will provide live coverage of that event next week.
