UFC 140 onsite report: Dot Net reader's take on Jon "Bones" Jones vs. Lyoto Machida, Frank Mir's win, Tito Ortiz's loss, and more
Dec 11, 2011 - 04:04 PM

Dot Net reader Pawan Ghuman attended the UFC 140 pay-per-view on Saturday and sent the following report.

Mark Homnick vs. Jung Chan-Sung: The ACC was packed everyone was hyped up and ready so I sat down. Chung and Homnick touched gloves. Roughly seven seconds in, Chung just killed him with the flash knockout. The crowd went wild. Everybody was screaming. The funny part was that I missed the knockout and had to watch the screens to find out what happened. Overall, a good way to hype up the crowd, but sadly the next fight killed the crowd.

Brian Ebersole vs. Claude Patrick: This just killed the crowd. 15 minutes of silence except for the last two minutes of the final round. There were submissions involved but other then that it was complete silence.

Tito Ortiz vs. Lil' Nog: This is where business started picking up. Wow, what a way to make the crowd happy - bring a U.S. flag into a Canadian city. It didn't matter that the fight didn't last long, the crowd still loved Tito. So basically Tito came out swinging and landed a few. A left hook by Nog and a knee Tito drops to the ground, and Nog never let up. Nog just killed him with elbows to the ribs. After a minute of ground and pound, the ref stopped it and Nog won.

Frank Mir vs. Big Nog: This fight had a big fight atmosphere. The fight started with Nog getting a takedown. Nog went for the armbar. Frank countered and went for a rear naked choke. He switched position, got the Kimora, and snapped Nog's arm. The crowd went wild and everybody jumped. They showed the replay of his arm snapping. Damn, that was nasty

Lyoto Machida vs. Jon Jones: This was epic. Jones and Lyto just started each other down and tried a few kicks until Jones went at his a elbow and cut. Machida, who had a nasty cut that the doctor checked. The doctor said he was good. A few punches by Jones, who grabbed the neck and choked him out. Lyoto went to sleep. Wow! Short but awesome fights. UFC delivered big time. It was an awesome show.
