UFC News: The Ultimate Fighter Live coaches revealed for FX debut
Dec 6, 2011 - 08:07 PM |
UFC issued a press release to announce that Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber will be the coaches of the new season of The Ultimate Fighter Live. The show will move to its new network home with a two-hour premiere on Friday, March 9.
"We’re producing ground-breaking television with The Ultimate Fighter LIVE and we can’t wait to kick this season off with FX in March,” UFC President Dana White said. “It’s going to be can’t-miss TV. Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber are two incredible personalities who also happen to be two of the best fighters in the world. They genuinely dislike each other and I expect this to make for the best season yet."
Powell's POV: The show feature lightweight and welterweight fighters competing for a pair of contracts. Cruz and Faber will eventually meet in a fight that is listed as taking place in mid-2012. The new gimmick is that the fights that air on the shows will actually be live rather than taped. I like the new wrinkle of going live with the fights each Friday night.
