UFC color commentator ripped the Nevada State Athletic Commission over the judging of MMA events during Saturday's Ultimate Fighter finale event. "It's gross," Rogan said following a highly questionable call in the opening fight of the Spike TV broadcast. "You should be able to leave it in the hands of the judges. You should be able to just fight.

"And we should point out that that is the situation because of the Nevada State Athletic Commission. That's what it is. It has nothing to do with the UFC. People keep saying, 'Oh, the UFC is corrupt.' We have no say whatsoever in who judges these fights. (Nevada State Athletic Commission executive director) Keith Kizer has denied that there's an issue. I think there's a huge, huge issue, and I think he needs to clean house.

"There's a few very good judges surrounded by a bunch of incompetent morons that know absolutely nothing about the sport, and they've got to do something about that because it's ruining MMA, and it's making people think that this sport is corrupt. And it has nothing to do with corruption, it's sheer, complete, total incompetence. So, folks, send emails, get online, write blogs, do what you've got to do. We can't do anything."

Powell's POV: I applaud Rogan for ripping into the lousy judging. One of the reasons I stopped watching boxing on a regular basis was that there were too many ridiculous decisions made by the judges, and I'd hate to see it become a bigger problem in MMA. I don't know if it was wise to acknowledge the fact that some people claim UFC is corrupt, as that plants the seed with viewers who may not have been thinking that way, but hopefully Rogan's passionate speech on the topic leads to change.
