UFC News: James Toney wanted Brock Lesnar, was offered Kimbo Slice, and settled on Randy Couture
Jul 28, 2010 - 07:41 PM |
By Rich Twilling
Boxer turned MMA fighter James Toney wanted to face UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar in his first UFC fight. His request was countered with Kimbo Slice, who Toney said that would be, "like kicking a little kid's butt." They agreed on Randy Couture.
"Lesnar ran away from Shane Carwin like a girl, but then Carwin ran out of gas and quit. But I'll fight any of them, any time anywhere. That's my motto." Toney had much more to say over at MMAFighting.com.
Twill's Two Cents: If Toney wins a few fights, he could be a lot of fun as a classic heel promo. He said his goal was to be the Heavyweight Champion of the World in boxing and the UFC at the same time. We'll see if he lives up to his self induced hype.
