UFC issued a press release on Thursday to announce that they won their legal battle with Ken Shamrock, who claimed the company violated the terms of his contract. He was seeking "hundreds of thousands of dollars" as part of the lawsuit.
"The UFC has a clear and unambiguous attorney fee clause in all of its contracts with fighters to the effect, that in the event a fighter loses any contractual challenge in court, that fighter will be responsible for paying our fees," UFC attorneys stated. "Accordingly, we will be filing a motion to seek recovery of all of our expenses and fees which were occasioned by this lawsuit."
Powell's POV: It's a shame that UFC and one of MMA's true pioneers can't resolve their differences. After all, Shamrock is one of only seven members of the UFC Hall of Fame.
