Dana White told the "Into The Night with Tony Bruno" radio show that NBA star Shaquille O'Neal wants to fight UFC Champion Brock Lesnar. "Shaq texts and Twitters me all the time saying he wants to fight Brock Lesnar," White said in quotes transcribed by Yahoo Sports. "He's been training for 10 years; Shaq's probably the only dude in the NBA that can actually fight ... I told Shaq, I said listen, 'Win another NBA championship this year and then we'll talk next year.'" To read the full article, visit Yahoo.com.
Powell's POV: Don't get your hopes up for this fight. It would be a huge money draw for UFC, but I'd be stunned if the two sides actually worked out a deal. The Cleveland Cavaliers wouldn't allow it, and I'd be surprised if White ever agreed to stage this circus fight given some of the gimmick fights he's passed on. That said, it makes for an interesting story on a quiet day in sports due to Major League Baseball being off.
