UFC contender Chael Sonnen has pleaded guilty to money laundering related to mortgage fraud in Oregon. He faces up to 20 years in prison, but is expected to cooperate as a witness against others involved in the fraud investigation, according to MMAFighting.com.

Sonnen admitted to submitting a false letter and sales agreement addendum for payment to a plumbing company for a home that he knew they were not going to. Sonnen rose to fame last year when he dominated Anderson Silva for four rounds and then losing via submission in the final round. He is currently serving a suspension after testing positive for performance enhancing drugs. For more on the story, visit MMAFighting.com.

Powell's POV: Sonnen is arguably the best promo in UFC, but it will be very interesting to see how he handles this issue once he starts talking again. For that matter, it will be interesting to see whether there is any backlash within UFC for his guilty plea, assuming his plea bargain doesn't lead to a lengthy jail sentence. Insert your own joke here regarding how TNA would make him World Champion.
