UFC Hvt. Champion Brock Lesnar is hospitalized in North Dakota. UFC president Dana White stated that Lesnar's illness is serious. "He went to Canada and some bad stuff happened to him, so we’ve got to figure it out," White told Sherdog.com.
White added that Lesnar is battling more than just mononucleosis. "He has other problems too,” he said. “He is not good. He is very, very sick and he’s going to be out for a while.” For more on the story, visit Sherdog.com.
Powell's POV: White added that Lesnar may be sent to the Mayo Clinic or another top hospital. It sounds much more serious than a simple case of mono. Here's hoping the champ makes a quick and full recovery.
White also indicated that they may need to crown an interim champion. I'm sure it's the last thing White wants to do since they had an interim champion before Brock became the undisputed UFC Hvt. Champion earlier this year, but it's getting to the point where it's the fair move to make for the other fighters.
