UFC 167 pay-per-view
Las Vegas, Nevada at MGM Grand Garden Arena
1. Ali Bagautinov defeated Tim Elliot via unanimous decision.
2. Tyron Woodley beat Josh Koscheck via first-round knockout.
3. Robbie Lawler beat Rory MacDonald via split decision.
4. Rashad Evans beat Chael Sonnen via first-round TKO.
5. Georges St-Pierre defeated Johny Hendricks via split decision to retain the UFC Welterweight Championship.
Powell's POV: GSP scored a controversial split decision that was booed by many fans in attendance. I had Hendricks winning the fight 48-47, but I felt that a case could be made for GSP taking a close round one, which would have been enough to give him the win since he clearly took rounds three and five. GSP, whose face took quite a pounding, announced his plan to "hang up the gloves for a little bit" to take care of personal business. It didn't seem like a definitive retirement, and there will obviously be a great deal of interest in a rematch between the two fighters.
