Dot Net reader Jared Brodeur attended the UFC 118 pay-per-view on Saturday and passed along the following notes.
I'll get the negatives out of the way. First off the camera men really block the view of what's happening in the cage especially where I was sitting as there were two camera men on the same cage side. With that said the show was awesome live. The Boston crowd was really hot throughout the show except for a couple snoozer fights.
The crowd was insane for Joe Lauzon and really hooked on the the Boxing vs. UFC storyline as they went nuts for Randy Couture. There were a ton of BJ Penn fans who were irate with the main event. I thought Frankie Edgar put on a great performance and really proved that he is the legit champ by winning all five rounds.
All and all it was a fun experience. A funny note from the show. When I was leaving there were two girls passing out flyers for WWE's 900th Raw which will take place from the same arena Monday night. It seemed like most people who got the flyer immediately chucked it on the ground. While there are crossover fans, it seemed like most people were not fans.
