UFC issued a press release on Monday to announce Brock Lesnar will defend the UFC Hvt. Championship against Shawn Carwin at UFC 106 on November 21 in Las Vegas. The show will also feature Tito Ortiz vs. Mark Coleman
"Brock Lesnar has been tearing through everyone over the last year," UFC President Dana White stated. "But in Shane Carwin, he's not only fighting someone as big as he is, he's fighting someone who has ended all of his fights in less than three minutes.
Lesnar sounds confident about the fight. "I'm excited to get back in the Octagon on November 21st to defend my title,” he said. “I’m looking forward to fighting Shane Carwin. “He’s undefeated and I’m the man who is going to put an end to that."
Meanwhile, Carwin spoke of his excitement. "I was extremely excited when I got the news that I was fighting Brock,” he said. “I couldn’t even sleep that night. This fight is going to be different for both of us. We’re not used to facing someone who equals us in size. I can see this fight taking place everywhere. We both have wrestling backgrounds, but hopefully we’ll get into some exchanges on the feet too." For more information on the show, visit UFC.com.
Powell's POV: I'm really looking forward to that show. Carwin is the fighter who badmouthed Lesnar's post-fight antics in a blog shortly after the fight with Frank Mir. Brock and Tito on the same card all but guarantees some pro wrestling-like antics from the two bad boys of UFC.
