Bobby Lashley and Vitor Belfort are the top contenders to face Fedor Emelianenko in the main event of the Affliction pay-per-view on Sunday in Anaheim, Calif. Fedor is slated to face Josh Barnett, but Sherdog.com is reporting that the Nevada State Athletic Commission will not allow Barnett to fight due to a positive drug test result.
Although Lashley's name has come up, he doesn't sound interested. "I don't know if I would want it right now," Lahsley said. "Since the last fight, I haven't really been into training again. That fight is next week. That would be something I would really have to take a look at. To just jump in there probably wouldn't be the smartest thing for me right now." Powell's POV: I wouldn't take this fight if I were in Lashley's shoes. Sure, he could shock the world, which would cause his stock to skyrocket, but a decisive loss would be a big setback even though he'd have the obvious excuse of fighting on short notice.
