The following are the results of the Strikeforce MMA event, which took place on Saturday night in Miami, Fla.
-Bobby Lashley defeated Wes Sims via first-round ref stoppage.
-Robbie Lawler knocked out Melvin Manhoef in the first round.
-Herschel Walker beat Greg Nagy via third-round ref stoppage.
-Cris "Cyborg" Santos beat Marloes Coenen via third-round TKO to retain the women's title.
-Nick Diaz defeated Marius Zaromskis via first-round knockout to win the vacant Strikeforce Welterweight Championship.
Powell's POV: Lashley looked good in his fight, but I agree with the Showtime announcers who felt the fight was stopped prematurely. Lawler scored the knockout of the night. He was basically fighting on one leg after Manhoef destroyed him early with kicks. It appeared as though it would only be a matter of time before Manhoef would put him away, but Lawler nailed him with a great right hand that ended the fight.
Walker controlled the majority of his first fight. His opponent had only fought two fights. Santos also dominated her fight. It would be a shame if she lost before the inevitable rematch with Gina Carano. Diaz was knocked down early in his fight, but he came back and knocked out Zaromskis later in the round. Overall, another fun show from Strikeforce.
