Jimmy Hart says he hopes Hulk Hogan will bring an old school mentality to TNA, recalls working with Eddie "Umaga" Fatu on the Hulkamania Tour
Dec 10, 2009 - 09:41 AM

Jimmy Hart told the Miami Herald that he hopes Hulk Hogan brings an old school mentality to TNA. "When we started out, if Vince (McMahon) or anybody caught us in the ring working out with our opponent before a match, we would have been fired. Back in our day, working seven days a week in a small territory, we had to work with different people every night and learned so much. Everything was called in the ring, and that was so important. Hopefully Hulk will bring some of that old school back. Let people talk from their heart and make things more colorful again. If he does that, it will be a major change.''

Hart also recalled working with Eddie "Umaga" Fatu on the Hulkamania Tour. "It was such a great experience, especially being with Hulk and Ric (Flair), and the late great Umaga,'' Hart said. "He was awesome. When this show finally comes out, when you see this last match he had with Mr. Ken Kennedy or Mr. Anderson, it was unbelievable. It won't disappoint you." Powell's POV: I don't have a problem with wrestlers working with their opponents before shows. The reason they kept the wrestlers apart back in Hart's day was because kayfabe was alive and they couldn't have anyone seeing them essentially practicing their spots. That's no longer a concern today. Other interview topics include working for WWE, more on Hogan in TNA, and the Wrestilicious promotion.
