Dot Net News: Eric Bischoff provides details on the Hulkamania tour, DVD discussions, and whether it will air on pay-per-view
by Jason Powell Sep 24, 2009 - 03:23 PM

Eric Bischoff told Prowrestling.net last week that he and Hulk Hogan revisited the idea of holding an overseas tour roughly eight months ago. After considering some proposals for shows in Europe and South Africa, they eventually had conversations with Reno Anoa'i, the brother of former WWE wrestler Rikishi.

Anoa'i, who promotes the Nu Wrestling Evolution tours and is involved in the Hulkamania tour, hooked up Bischoff and Hogan with promoters Patrick and Michael Condon, who eventually struck a deal with the duo to hold the overseas tour. The Codons have connections in China and there is some talk of expanding the tour or doing a show in Macau, China, but nothing is official at this point.

There are no plans at this time for a domestic pay-per-view. Bischoff feels it would be a tough sell no matter how good the shows turn out to be without weekly television in North America supporting it. However, he did say that there are proposals on the table for possible DVD releases. Again, though, there was not a DVD deal in place when we last spoke.

Powell's POV: This information was published on the Dot Net Members' page last week. To get the first look at news, access to exclusive audio interviews, and more become a member for only $5 per month by visiting the Dot Net Members' Signup Page.
