Former XPW promoter and his wife sentenced to prison
Jul 1, 2009 - 02:08 PM |
Former XPW promoter Rob Black (a/k/a Robert Zicari) and his wife Janet Romano were sentenced to a year and a day in a Pennsylvania prison for conspiring to distribute pornographic videos depicting simulated rape and murder. The couple pleaded guilty on March to conspiracy to distribute obscene material and also received two years of supervised release at sentencing. To read the full story, check out the AP story at Google.com.
Powell's POV: Black ran the ECW-wannabe promotion XPW out of California. The group is arguably best known for disrupting the ECW Heatwave 2000 pay-per-view. Black and his wife ran a pornography company, which is what led to the prison sentence listed above. The recent XPW reunion show was not promoted by Black.
