Independent show shut down when a match involving Sonjay Dutt brawled into the crowd
Jan 19, 2014 - 02:10 PM |
A representative of the Oklahoma State Athletic Commission stepped in and shut down the Omni Wrestling show in Sperry, Oklahoma on Saturday. The show was shut down about five minutes into a match between Sonjay Dutt and Michael Wolf when the action was taken into the crowd, a violation of the commission's rules. There was still one match scheduled to take place on the card.
Zim Says: Yet another instance of the OKAC making things difficult for the world of combat sports. As someone in the industry from Oklahoma told me: "We have a terrible commission. It's part of the reason why we never get people here." Dutt hasn't publicly acknowledged the incident, but based on several tweets he has put out, he's taking the "it makes for a good story" approach, which is about all one can do. He also noted that it was his "second time [working in OK] and probably last!" Follow him online at Twitter.com/sonjaydutterson.
