Dot Net reader Kevin Cruz attended The Big Event Wrestling Convention in New York, N.Y. at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel on Saturday and sent the following recap.

The main guest was Shawn Michaels. If you purchased a VIP ticket, you were allowed to get a picture and an autograph of The Rockers. I been to many signings and this was done very well and it was a easy going atmosphere. The were doing a number system so your place was always intact so you were free to roam around and see the other wrestlers and come back to meet HBK.

The other wrestlers in attendance were Hernandez, The Beautiful People, Madison Rayne, Chris Masters, The Godfather, Big Daddy V, Mayrse, Maria, Winter, Ivelisse, Stevie Richards, Stacy Carter, Terri Runnels, Saturn, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Jay Lethal, The Young Bucks, Sonjay Dutt, Davari, Paul London, Brian Kendrick, Lex Luger, The Genius, Buff Bagwell, The Killer Bees, Tony Garea, Mike Bennett, Mike Knox, and Luke Gallows (I may have missed one or two). Each of those wrestlers was easy going and interacting with every one they met.

I went in to meet Shawn and it was done in a room and Marty Jannetty was right there next to him. Around the time I went, it was mostly for Shawn, and Marty knew that and he was relaxing and laying down on the table laughing but talking with everyone that came in. We spoke for a bit and then meeting Shawn was great. I wasn't rushed. He spoke to me and took a picture. Marty would sneak in for a few pics with other people and it looked like he was having a ball. All in all, it was a packed event and it was done very well.
