Mike Shaw (a/k/a Bastion Booger, Norman The Lunatic, Makhan Singh) dead at age 53
Sep 12, 2010 - 02:25 PM |
Mike Shaw died of a heart at attack at age 53 on Saturday, according to Slam Wrestling. Shaw had a successful run in the Calgary Stampede promotion while working as Makhan Sing. He had a run with WWE as Bastion Booger, and worked in WCW as Norman The Lunatic and Norman The Trucker. For more details, visit Slam Wrestling. [Thanks to Dot Net reader Kevin Dunne]
Powell's POV: Shaw was a top heel for the Calgary Stampede promotion. His mainstream characters were campy, but he was a strong heel on the Calgary tapes I watched back at the time. The Slam Wrestling story also noted that Shaw played pro softball for the Milwaukee Schlitz before he started his pro wrestling career.
