ECW icon Sandman is advertised as facing two-time boxing world champion Tim Witherspoon in a five-round brawl to determine the first World Xtreme Entertainment champion. Former Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Hollis Thomas will serve as the special enforcer referee. The event is promoted by Damon Feldman who was involved in the Celebrity Boxing shows.

A press conference will be held on Thursday at Chickie and Petes (1526 Packer Ave. in South Philadelphia, Pa.) during which the date and location of the first show will be announced. Feldman states in the press release that there are "several Hollywood actors and athletes" on board with the company. The first show will also include a "tag team boxing match" and an "Xtreme Battling Babes title match." The promotion is also looking for models, dancers, pro wrestlers, and entertainers. Powell's POV: This sounds like a real gem. Witherspoon, 57, had brief runs with the WBC and WBA World Heavyweight Championships in the mid-eighties. Feldman was previously charged with six counts of staging events without a valid promoter's license and with fixing six Celebrity Boxing Federation bouts. He actually lost his license with the Pennsylvania commission back in 2005 following an incident with another promoter, but he returned to promoting a true boxing event back in June 2013 via the loophole that his father was the promoter of record.
