Independent promoter Ernest Mack Shell, 31, was arrested on Saturday night in Brushfork, Ky. for failing to pay the wrestlers who worked his card. Dallas Page and Jim Neidhart were flown in for the show, and the police officers who worked security were not paid.

"The extra money would have come in handy with Christmas just a few weeks ago,” deputy W.E. Rose told BDTOnline. “The three of us didn’t get paid just like the wrestlers. But really, I think the ones who suffered the most were the people who came out in that weather Saturday night and didn’t get to see the event they paid to see.

“Tickets were $20 and $25 for VIP tickets that were supposed to register the buyer for a 55-inch TV, but none of that happened. It was bad weather ... really bad weather, and only about 150 people made it to the armory. Since the weather was that bad, he should have canceled the event.” To read the full story, visit BDTonline.com.

Powell's POV: The story also notes that some of the wrestlers who worked the show didn't have money to make the drive home. Shell was arrested on 10 counts of obtaining services under false pretenses, and up to 19 other counts could be in the works. If you're going to be a moron and screw over guys who could beat the hell out of you, at least have enough common sense to pay the police officers you use as security.
