-The NWA issued a press release on Tuesday to announce that Denis Condrey and Bobby Eaton will be inducted into the NWA Hall of Fame on June 7 in Atlanta, Ga. They join Tommy Rich and Iron Sheik as 2008 class members. [Thanks to Keith Lipinski]
-Dot Net reader Mark Townsend of BugsandCranks.com reports: "I watched the AWA broadcast on ESPN Classic last night. They panned the crowd at one point and who was there in the front row holding up a Riki Choshu poster and leading a Choshu chant? None other than Mike Tenay. It was definitely him, and those shows were taped in Vegas—his hometown.
Powell's POV: Condrey and Eaton were tremendous. Slam dunk Hall of Famers in my book. For that matter, I suspect that the team of Eaton and Stan Lane has a chance to make a future NWA Hall of Fame class.
I didn't watch the AWA show last night, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if that was Tenay. He's a huge fan of Japanese wrestling and you're right about him living in Vegas, so that seems like a logical assumption to me.
