Mick Foley commits to attending hall of fame event in Waterloo, Iowa

One of the biggest superstars in professional wrestling history will be the master of ceremonies at the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame induction banquet. The event is being held at the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center in Waterloo, Iowa, on Saturday, July 23 at 6 p.m.

Foley received the Frank Gotch Award last year. The award goes to a professional wrestler who brings positive recognition outside the ring.

Foley will make his second appearance in Waterloo for the event.

“I am excited about returning to Waterloo and I hope fans will participate in this historic weekend,” said Foley.

Terry Funk, Jim Ross, Gerald Brisco, Jim Duggan, Larry Hennig, Maurice “Mad Dog” Vachon, Jim Raschke, Danny Hodge, Dan Gable, Pat Miletich, Bob Roop, and Fritz Von Goering have also confirmed that they will attend the banquet.

This year’s induction class includes Dory Funk, Jr., Gorilla Monsoon, Jim Duggan (Frank Gotch Award), Jim Ross (Lou Thesz Award), Pat Miletich (George Tragos Award), and Scott Teal (Jim Melby Award).
