Ian Rotten announces he is battling gastric stomach cancer

IWA Mid South promoter John Williams, who wrestles as Ian Rotten, announced on his Facebook page that he has been diagnosed with gastric stomach cancer. "I have been battling pancreatitis and my uncontrolled diabetes," Williams wrote. "I was hospitalized on Friday, August 30th, and through the processes of treating pancreatitis and running other tests on me, I was diagnosed today with gastric stomach cancer.

Powell's POV: Williams cancelled the IWA Mid South events for September and October and stated that refunds would be issued within the next two weeks. He said he hopes to be given a clean bill of health in seven weeks and is eying the first weekend in December for his return show.
