George Steele comments on the green tongue gimmick, Randy Savage’s jealousy issues regarding Elizabeth

George “The Animal” Steele is featured in an article on PJStar.com. He claims his famous green tongue gimmick wasn’t planned. “It was an accident,” Steele said. “I had a couple of green Chlorests and (put them in my mouth) and didn’t know my tongue was green. I had the best breath in wrestling.”

He also commented on his feud with Randy Savage over Elizabeth. “Randy was very jealous of her,” he said. “It was a real challenge at times. He was a real pro but at times, he was caught up in the character. He got jealous sometimes with it.” The article also notes that Steele, Nikola Volkoff, and Sgt. Slaughter will be signing autographs at Saturday’s Peoria Rivermen hockey game at the Peoria Civic Center.
