Gabe Sapolsky posted a new blog that looks back at the beginnings of the ECW and Ring of Honor promotions. "I looked around and saw a bunch of wrestlers that I didn't know well, maybe I saw them in other places and they weren't that impressive or I just had no idea who they were," Sapolsky writes regarding ECW in 1993.

"They had names like Taz, Tommy Dreamer, Sandman, and Public Enemy. They all shared something in common- they were young, hungry, determined and ready for a new opportunity and stage. I still vividly remember the moment about eight months later when Paul Heyman told Public Enemy to cut a promo spray painting the word 'Extreme' over 'Eastern' on the cheaply made banner that acted as a backdrop on interviews." Powell's POV: Gabe also recalled how he, his wife, and Rob Feinstein came up with the name Ring of Honor, and how WWE-bound wrestler Bryan Danielson helped him come up with the EVOLVE name. It's a fun read.
