The November 2009 issue of Men's Fitness magazine has exclusive excerpts from former WWE and WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan's new book, My Life Outside the Ring. Some of the following are amongst the highlights:
-Hogan on blade jobs: "Blade jobs don't hurt. It's like getting a little cut when shaving. It bleeds like crazy, but it's not painful."
Twill's Two Cents: Hogan went into detail about blading and the fact that Mickey Rourke made it seem like way too much of a painful process in The Wrestler.
-Hogan on the night he won the WWE Title from The Iron Sheik: "I exploded my kneecap. Here I was at Madison Square Garden, knowing I was going to win the world title. There's no way I wasn't going to finish that match."
Twill's Two Cents: This one was new to me; I had never heard of him being hurt that night. He said he got hurt after hitting a knee drop, so now I want to go back, watch the match, and see if he actually did hit a knee drop.
-Hogan on "roid rage:" "The fact is, I've been around more steroid users than the average person in my lifetime, and roid rage is something I have never, ever seen. It's certainly nothing I've ever felt.
Twill's Two Cents: Hogan was very adamant about how non steroid users point out a bunch of untrue things about steroid users.
This issue, with UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida on the cover, is on newstands now. I will be back with another set of excerpts later. For subscription information, head over to the Men's Fitness official website.
