Adam Pearce and Colt Cabana both left the NWA World Heavyweight Championship lying in the middle of the ring in Australia after what was supposed to be the final match in their Seven Levels of Hate series for the title. The NWA refused to sanction the seventh match after some changes in NWA leadership, but the match went on anyway and Cabana won. After the match, Pearce said Cabana was the rightful champion. But Cabana refused the title, saying the NWA represented the past and he was all about the future. Pearce said if Cabana didn't want the title, he didn't either, and both men left the belt behind. [Thanks to ChrisGST of PWPonderings.com for the info.]

Shore's Slant: Crazy. I have no idea if this was planned or if this was both guys expressing their legit displeasure with the NWA. If it’s the former, then the NWA may have finally found a way to get some much needed press. If it’s the latter, well, this may be the end of the NWA. After growing up watching the NWA, that seems impossible to say.
