2KW
Union City, N.J. at ACE Arena
Report by Dot Net reader Ian Elimeliah

On April 23rd 2KW made its long awaited return show in what can be considered its Rebirth/Homecoming, where its history came full circle and launched the promotion towards the future. 2KW was formally a backyard wrestling group that shows a ton of potential, as it has taking that first step out of the backyards and into the indies.

The show was held at the famous ACE Arena in Union City where some of todays best talent such as DGUSA, Evolve, and Chikara have performed. This show gained a good amount of attention from the indy scene, to the point that the ICW sent a rep to watch the show. From what I can tell, it looked like he did enjoy the show, as he was talking with fans during and stayed for its entirety... he was also seen speaking to a number of the talent afterwards. I feel the sky's the limit for this promotion.

Show Hosted By the returning Jamal Jackson.

1. Angel Ortiz defeated Kris Kage via pin after hitting a monster Lariat. JBL would approve. Post Match Angel Oritz attacked by The G.O.A.T Faction.

2. Jamal Jackson defeated Joey Resto. Jackson won via pin after hitting the Jackson Splash.

3. Sean Statik beat Nolan Avila and Damien Sage in a Triple Threat match. Sean Statik came away with the win when he pinned Nolan Avila following a springboard Canadian Destroyer.

4. Joey Ace defeated Mike Draztik via pin. The finish came after the ref was temporarily blinded due to getting poked in the eye, he then low blowed Draztik and hit his finisher.

5. Joe Bullrog defeated G-Murda via pin. Bullrog won after hitting a sick looking sunset flip.

6. Fat Nasty Bastard defeated Mel Sanchez. FNB won via pin following a Spinning Back Fist.

7. The G.O.A.T (Raze and Whiplash) defeated Beyond Belief (Kev Krush and Ray Sexy) via pin. Raze used his sick finisher R.S.D. on Ray Sexy.

8. Shawn Matthews defeated Matt Marvel. Matthews won via a school boy roll up for the pin.

9. William Black beat GREAT Styles to retain the 2KW World Championship. Black won via pin following a "Repercussion" Neck Breaker.

Notes: Throughout the night, there was a video package played on the arena screens of a heart monitor going from flatline to heart beat pulses followed by red F. in a oval logo. This package played again during the Tornado Tag Match: The G.O.A.T vs. Beyond Belief, but this time around the word YOURSELF (underlined) followed the F. logo (so yeah it said F. YOURSELF).

Also two guys that I would say were over six feet tall (one looked like a manager or owner the other his bodyguard) came out in what looked like a scouting session. This was very interesting to me cause as a fan that attends a good number of shows in the local area I've seen that logo before. It's popped up at such shows as the TNA show that was held at MCU Park over the past summer,

It also popped up at the DGUSA at the same ACE Arena in January (there were two guys in the front row wearing the t-shirts and it seemed as if the announcer and main ref knew who they were due to some interaction with them), and the most recent at the Evolve show at BB King's in Times Square NYC the same week as the 2KW show (same thing at this show also, there were two guys in the front row wearing the t-shirts that had some interaction with Larry Dallas and Jon Davis), and now this appearance/walk out on the 2KW show.

I'm not sure what the deal with it is but it seems like it could turn out to be something very interesting...guess we have to keep our eyes open. Raw Footage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zja46x03nas
