Wrestling Cares Association Race for the Ring Round One, Bracket A

There seemed to be around 100 people in the building.

The show began and the participants in the show were all introduced. The rules of the tournament were ran down by ring announcer Larry Legend (more on those in my full report on the show).

1. Kyle Matthews defeated Colt Cabana 2-1 in sudden death overtime.

2. Drew Gulak defeated Bobby Sharp 2-1.

3. Jamin Olivencia defeated Ryan Taylor 3-1.

4. Kyle O'Reilly and Davey Richards wrestled to a 1-1 draw after regulation time and overtime ran out. Both men were eliminated from the tournament.

Intermission

Before the second half of the show began, a $1,000 check was presented to the Scott L. Schwartz Children's Foundation.

5. Pepper Parks defeated Vordell Walker 2-1.

6. B-Boy defeated Jake McAllister 2-1.

7. Steve Anthony defeated Caprice Coleman 1-0.

8. Adam Cole defeated Anthony Neese 2-1 in sudden death overtime.

Pruett's Pause: This was a decent debut show for the new promotion. It was nice to see a lot of East Coast talent out west. There were some kinks in the format and in running a show in a new venue. All of that said, with two very good matches and the setup for interesting stories in the future, this show was a creative success.
